We first stumbled upon FILLS while waiting to be called for our seating at Cheryl’s on 12th (good spot for brunch). While both of us were never fans of jelly filled (or anything filled) donuts, we were HUNGRY. Waiting another 30 minutes on top of the hour wait time we already endured was impossible. Just down the street was a donut shop that captured our attention with cute decor and color pop logo. Just one donut was all it took to change our opinion on not only filled donuts, but donuts in general. FILLS is known for their in house custard or creme filled berliners.
Complete shock. Almost as if all the other donuts we came to eat growing up, couldn’t compare. Balance is often a hard achievement when eating something sweet; Donuts in general are, well.. just sweet. BUT FILLS took that common thought and showed us how donuts really should be.
